Before School Daze! Nostalgia Step Show Videos From The Divine Nine

It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since Spike Lee dropped his classic joint School Daze, the film that introduced the world to Black Greek life and HBCU culture.

If you’re a member of a Black Greek-lettered organization, or just a lover of college nostalgia, then Mission College and the brothers of Gamma Phi Gamma will always hold a special place in your heart. So to celebrate the musical’s anniversary, we gathered step show footage from the real-life school days of Divine Nine fraternity and sorority members in the late 80s and earlier 90s.

The Beta Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. show off their moves in 1984.

The Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. participate in a step show in 1987.

The Fall 1988 initiates into the Kappa Beta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. make their debut.

In 1991, the women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. participated in a step show at Florida A&M University.

In 1986, the brothers of Phi Beta Sigma from Memphis State repped their organization to the fullest.

In 1989, the women of Zeta Phi Beta showed off their moves at UCLA.
